Are you?
Do you consider yourself high, medium, or low.
If you are high maintenance is it a good thing?
Just wondering.......

Define "high maintenence". Some men think a woman is high maintenence if she's intelligent and/or has strong opinions; these characteristics tend to be viewed by men as those that would keep him on his toes, so to speak, and they comsider that to be high maintenence. Alot of men dont have much use for a woman that is anything more than cute, sweet, vulnerable, and has the capability of putting a complete sentence together. Some men consider it high maintenence if they feel like they need to do alot for her to keep her happy; there's different perceptions of it; how do you interpret high maintenence?

A surprise around every curve, Bri.

just a tad of braggadocio:
You should see some of my original art work. Except that I sold it all and currently do not have any around.

Two every prominent art Uni's heavily courted me with full scholarships.( 1998)

The Union Commercial Plumbing apprenticeship accepted me at the same time, though ,and I selected their program.
My roster of County State and Federal licenses and certifications is(was) a mile long. Fascinating occupation and I really loved it.

" I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan, install the stove/oven/cooktop...and never let you forget you're a man......etc."

Maybe one day I will post a picture of myself in some typical feminine attire. But you would just fall in love with me then, so perhaps I had better refrain.

ps, not only did i design it, I built it and decorated it, too.
My fav is the fireplace, because that marble clad beauty was a true BEAST to create.
the budget for this job was tiny ! I'd be dangerous with some serious cash to work with.

Gee Bri,,,I'd go just about anyplace if you want to treat.

Right now, any tropical destination is appealing ( but arent they always ?)
I'm thinking New Zealand, or perhaps Honduras. Toss me in a wetsuit , throw me out on a reef and I am happy.

Golf ? whats that ?
The mountain cottage I remodeled for another MM member a few years back is on the 18th green of a Golf and Country Club.
All I know is that the 18th IS a great party location !

My birthday IS coming up..hmmmm....

YES I AM.
my posted pictures show the more uninhibited side of me. Going on adventures IS a must.
I wear jewelery and lipstick in the Aussie outback..one never knows whom one will meet........

My mental happiness requires more upkeep than the physical.

I love a good day at the Spa. Preferably while in Thailand or Indonesia.

I love adventure Shaz.........Where are we going? Golfing?

I would have to say all of the above.  There are certain standards of life and living that take work or require the utmost of attention.  On the otherhand, I am a pretty easy-going person who likes to enjoy every opportunity given to me in life.  I appreciate people for who they are and how we interact, rather than their appearance or by what kind of car they drive or labels they wear or neighborhood they live in.  We are who we are, why make relationships/life harder than they have to be.   Live, love, laugh is what I tend to say.

As far as me, personally...  Well, I LOATHE shopping unless I'm on (what I call) a "mission."  Don't tend to wear a lot of makeup.  I dress well/tailored when I have to but otherwise live in sweatpants and t-shirts (when alone in my home or simply running errands), although I do have certain preferred labels.   I drive a nice car (albeit getting pretty old) due to the reputation/need for it's build, not the price.  I take good care of myself, eat well, exercise, have an active social life and try to maintain a stable home life.  I don't need the best of everything and am content with being comfortable.  I'm happy with fine dining but the "greasy spoon" is OK as long as there's something healthy on the menu.  If not, I compromise.  I don't mind meeting somebody 1/2 way on issues or a fine debate, but do have a fine line that cannot be crossed as well.  I don't mind a man with a little meat on his bones, but draw the line at fat and lazy.

Other than a few physical "maintenance" issuse, I'd say overall I would tend to be more of the low to medium range.  I struggle with some health issues, but work through them.  I don't need liposuction to remove the "over 40" areas that keep appearing, I go to the gym and work them off or go tear up the ski slopes or go for a walk...  I don't need laser therapy for my freckles or brows, I live with them or get a waxing...  At times, high isn't such a bad thing when it comes to quality of life, love and happiness.  There I would have to say there are certain standards of how I would expect to be treated and respected but, as I mentioned earlier, won't stigmatize unless I'm given a reason to.  I don't tend to hold a grudge and will work through matters with people, unless (again) given a valid reason not to.

I'm sure I can come up with some more but I believe this is a good snapshot.  Nice questions for introspection!  Definitely something we should all think about from time to time I believe.

Courtney,
Thank you for you thoughtful response.
I had no idea there were this many levels of maintenance.
I do believe you could define further aspects of this subject.

I think high maintenance can be more than monetary...for example, one of my friends takes a couple of hours to get ready to go anywhere, I spend 45 minutes...and this does include shower, hair and makeup.  I think some people can be high maintenance emotionally..meaning too much drama or physically...I do not think net worth defines this..maybe a little narcicism ;)

I think you are right.
Very insightful and on target.

Theo,
It's not purple at all. The man chair is plum color. I think the computer has the color off a bit.
I'm glad you like it.

This is where I was headed with the "any direction."  I'll elaborate more later, just checking in.  Have a practical exam in Anatomy & Physiology to study for this weekend.  Anybody want to play Doctor???  lol

Do well, Courtney! I'm rooting for you!!!! When I counseled medical students, they physiology was their toughest subject. I think they took it the 2nd semester of their freshman year? We ALWAYS had to hire tutors and facilitators for study sessions for physiology. Those who passed Physio could make it through, usually. I'm wishing you the best and sending thoughts and prayers your way!!!

The better question would be, what does my nanny do for me?
Just kidding. She makes my coffee. Prepares my clothing for the day.
Gets my brief cases ready. Hangs my suit jacket in whatever car I'll use that day. She even puts the keys in the ignition and puts a to-go cup of coffee in the car.

Ummm, can I borrow your nanny? LOL!
Sheewt, I think I'll hire a "Nanny" or whatever you call a man-version. Hee Hee Hee! My daughter always says she's going to hire a Pool Boy by the name of Roberto-Jesus! He must have a wash-board stomach, bulging muscles, be 6ft, and have a wide, bright smile! ROTFL! It must be nice to have a nany!!! Go Brian!

D,
Is this a friend of yours?
I'd delete him but that is usually only necessary for that one special individual who always shows up with his mean spirited and nasty comments.
Love.....

Hi Theo.......
So what I hear is we need to divide this question into at least two parts;
1. physical maintenance
2. emotional maintenance or needs
What about what we require from our partner?
Would that be another category?
It's good to see you.
Brian
